Hey

I was looking through your stuff, and if I only judged you base on your technical skill, I would just shun you off as just another random noob on the audio portal.

BUT. Your handle on melodies is FANTASTIC. You make really awesome melodies; it really surpasses your technical skill. Your skill with FL studio is only amateur because you're pretty new to making stuff with FL, I can see.

I just wanted to let you know that once you get better at FL, you WILL be one of the best producers around. This I can guarantee.

Wooormy responds:

wow, thanks! Youre right about that im new with FL.. used it for around 2 months now. on the other hand, yeah, i've played piano my whole life, and allways made up my own songs and melodies. anyway, thank you very much!

Great.

Lots of work went into this, obviously. This is absolutely superb. The melody is extremely uplifting, I loooove it.

I don't really feel like writing an essay criticizing / praising this like some would do. There's almost no flaws in this, and this is definitely one of the best trance pieces NG has received in some time.

Oh, and lol@people saying it's long :)

JohnnyFrizz responds:

Heeeey WOW that was quick lol

Thanks for commenting back, I really appreciate the 10 and the compliments :D

"I don't really feel like writing an essay criticizing / praising this like some would do." Hmm that reminds me of someone whose name I cant recall now... XD

Very cool sah

Love the gating on the main synth. The only thing holding this back is that it could use a bit o equalizin so the percussion shines more instead of being drowned by the synths. Otherwise, this is a nice piece of music. It has kind of a shady / dark feel to it. Good work :)

nightsurfermusic responds:

Yeah, i agree, the percussion could use some equaling. Thanks for reviewing! :)

yes

Gah. You make epic trancey-house. This is so chill and clean. The slight reverb on the snare is perfect. Helps build the "I'm floating in the middle of the sea" feeling. Then it kicks in at 2:21, and the build up to it was insane. Now it's like a "I've landed on a remote desert island and there's an epic party being thrown in the pouring rain, with the only source of illumination being the lightning and the sun peaking through the cloudy rainy sky.".

That was probably too much. Anyways, this is song is awesome. It's definitely MUCH MUCH better and more professional than a lot of the trash that makes it to the top tracks and such. Anyone who gives you low ratings does not understand the level of professionalism in this song. Seriously, happygoat2 sounds like someone who would give THIS: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/liste n/238431, a perfect 10. Ugh.

Good work.

RAVEN responds:

Hey Rawrthaas, sorry for the late response, I had no idea I had any more reviews. Thanks for the awesome review dude, it definitely made me lol a bit. Yeah I'm glad you at least realize the amount of effort it takes to make a track like this, especially with mastering and whatnot. Glad you enjoyed this track, it was pretty fun workin' on this one. I'm tryin' to figure out what kinda feel my next song should have, like, what genres I should incorporate into it. I guess it'll be a surprise for everyone, including myself. Thanks again for the review. Later! =)

Yay

Nice housey thing you got here. Bass is pounding (maybe a bit too loud), kick and hat are EQ'd perfectly, and the sine/pseudoelectric piano thang was alright. Good stuff!

And it's a good thing it doesn't like the original. This is a remix after all.

RAVEN responds:

Yeah you know what I'm talking about. There's definitely a big difference between a remix and a cover, but unfortunately I think a lot of people won't enjoy this simply because they expected something very different than this. It's like, walking into a strip club expecting titties but it ending up being a male strip club and getting, well, something very different than your expectations. Perhaps that's too ridiculous of a comparison, but it's all I could think of to describe the type of disappointment you may feel when encountered with the unexpected. Haha anyway man, thanks for the review. I agree the bass could be lowered a tad. I'm gonna remaster this with Pro Tools 8 when I have access to a studio in the fall. Later Rawrthaas! =)

sss

This is alright. Mastering needs some work.

SWINE FLU

but seriously, I have a question. What VST has the preset that comes in around 3:00? I'm wondering cause I heard it in a Headhunterz song, and you probably know what song I'm talking about.

Namegoeshere responds:

That's the Digiwave preset in in the song Digiwave. You can find it in Vanguard.

oh no.

If you didn't read my review on RaveLeNation, I suggest you do so.

The bassline is the same as in that song. The same bass is on 75% of the basshunter-style hands up garbage that are in the top every week. You're trying, it's clear, but this is not quality at all. Maybe at 00:12 add a reverse crash before the bass comes in. You need something to introduce the new sounds in songs. When you randomly add new things, it doesn't fly. Like in your other song, the mastering is absent. The worst thing about this is the kick. It's so drowned out amongst everything else.

Keep practicing.

ugh

First, I'll say this only slightly better than the song that placed first (ravelenation). But, it's almost the same exact thing. Same bassline that's in 75% of the basshunter-style hands up garbage that place are always in the top on newgrounds. Bassline aside, the bass itself sounds like BooBass -- it doesn't fit at ALL. Pseudoacoustic basses are rarely good in hands up. Leads are clearly presets. You did nothing to them. Didn't add any effects or anything. Mastering is not there. It doesn't really sound like any attempt to equalize anything is in the song, but that's not suprising.

Sorry, but this is not good or original at all.

LK412 responds:

I agree with you on every single thing besides the fact you said its not good AT ALL.

I agree with all the technical stuff but saying a song isnt good at all because of the producer not knowing his/her's software very well is totally retarded.

U are completely right on all your points but you have to give me credit for trying.

I make my music mostly for the general public not for seasoned artists. It would be awesome to have everyone like my music but im not at that point yet. Im not good at mixing and mastering at ALL. Give me a break.

Thanks for the review, i know you meant well, but your last sentence kind of got me a little angry. : \

Btw, i dont try to sound like basshunter, ever...

lol

I know jack shit about dubstep. Buuut, I guess I'll give you my uneducated opinion anyways. That bass is heavy, I like it. The break is pretty cool, and the VGish square lead is pretty sick. The name is very fitting.

I have nothing further to add :)

yarr

Awesome melody, mastering is pretty top knotch, drums are alright. You're good =] Looking at your old stuff, I'd say you improved in one year much more than I improved in two >_<

Probably because I'm lazy and don't try very often to find resources that will help me get better.

LiquidEvolution responds:

Thanks and I've heard some of your latest stuff like the recent Happy Hardcore song you made and I was impressed to say the least. You really don't give yourself enough credit.
