wowww

I loved listening to this, and the story really brings this song to life. The IDM breaks were incredible, and I loved where it mellowed out half way through the song, then it starts up and it's more insane than before. I have to mention the breaks again -- they're mindblowing.. Love the jazzy vibes throughout the song.

perfect/10 5/5, this is art

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Thanks man! I'm glad you dig. Very glad. I had a good time working on this song, it was very fun and just really came together well with little down-time. I'm glad you noticed the more intense side of the breaks towards the end. Thats exactly what i was going for. Making the song more tense after the reveal of sorts, of the 'black monster'. Then the boy realizing this encounter isn't going to be as friendly as the last one. The abrupt fashion that the second part of break come in from that boiling calm. This is probably one of my favorite songs so far. The jazz bits worked out really well, and all that. I'm glad you noticed and enjoyed : D
Had fun working with the ideas in this track! As fun as it all was i think my favorite part was working on the mellowed "calm before the storm" section.

Thanks for the good review - The term 'mindblowing' makes me pleased!

yay

Since Alt+F4 is my favorite trance song you get a 10 no matter. I don't really like how you kept it so similar to the original, but since it was intended I guess it doesn't matter. I'm not too fond of the synths, they sound too generic / blatantly preset-y. The kick has the right compression, but I don't think it has enough mid.

That's extremely impressive that you did this without a midi, the pads sound spot on. Nice work.

I just realized A.N.D = A new decade. This kind of falls short of the quality I usually see from you; but O.K work nonetheless :)

A-New-Decade responds:

Thanks for the review!!! It was more of a AND remake than a remix but it was still fun! haha. Doing anything without midi is really hard. I'll be putting out a new original mix soon so check back for that. Peaceeee

Good

This is good, unlike 75% of the undeserving crap on the Best Tracks list. Good EQing, the drops are cool, catchy melody. It's entertaining the whole time :]

Armagelion responds:

I know what you mean when it comes to the crap on the Best Tracks list:p
Most of the tracks are shitty produced, but somehow they still get on that list:p
I've scouted NG for a while and I can think of numerous tracks by other artists who deserve a place there instead.

Thnx for the review:D Much appreciated!

Holy shit I have been wondering what the name of this song was for ages. Clocks.. yeah. Thanks for that. That's all I really wanted to say, but I guess I should review your remix too.

It doesn't really sound like a remix. It sounds like you tried to hard to make it sound like the original, with out of place synths and percussion. Also when the song kicks in, it's way too sudden. Put in some sort of lead in so it doesn't throw people off. Keep using FL for a long time. You'll get better and better and better =D

UndergroundFantasy responds:

lol yea i noticed the sudden part of the song... when i submitted the song, im fixin it now actually... but yea this is my 4th song in FL so im a noob (like everyone at one point...) Thx

Sorry about the bigot who zero voted you. The mastering in this one is phenomenal. The drums are glitchy, but only just enough to still consider them laid back. The ambiance with the pads is awesome, and the guitar is awesome. Even though it's so long, the quality of the song does not diminish one bit, both quality wise, and production wise. Kind of reminds me of KingBastard when he was submitting Glitch stuff. Only thing that bugs me is the acidy synth thats just being thrown all over the background from 2:26 to whenever.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Yeah, its alright. No big deal. I make better music then them. : D

Yeah, i thought it'd be interesting to see how my prog rock influence would go with my idm and glitch background. I think it makes a good mash up. As far as that ambient pad goes, those are actually keys, some random set of keys i had made a long time ago that i found and really liked. So it all sort of started with that actually. So i just messed with them until they had a light airy ambient sound to them. Which i've been doing lately with my piano stuff. I'm glad you like the guitar. I've only picked it up about 4 months ago! I'm glad you dont think the quality and or production didn't fall. Thats what i was going for. Making a long piece that would keep interesting the entire time. I worked in this in 3 different sections, which im sure you can pick them out. Then i strung them together. Now that you mention that 'acidy synth'. Which is actually a guitar : D
I didnt mean for it to pan around like that, i wanted it to pan right then left XD. I'll have to change that, i didnt notice it till right now. I need to get new headphones so i can hear things like that. x_x
I'm still making changes to this, i just thought i'd post up what it is now. Get some feedback on whats going good and bad and such : D

I really appreciate your review. Thank you again.

woah

The mellow and soft piano is very calming, but its countered by those insane glitchy IDM breaks, very nice.. The breaks are cool throughout the whole song. That must of took a while. The guitar is pretty cool. Now its near the end of the song and the beat kind of went half tempo-ish.. or something. And the guitar went jazz-mode and piano is all classy and stuff. I like it!

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Thanks for reviewing man. I appreciate that. Heh, yeah, thats how i do my thing. The beautiful integration of mellow and soft with techy mechanical roughness. I'm glad you like. It did take a good while. The two songs titled "Letters from..." took about a month. : O

smooth

Very liquidy / jazzy piece you have here. Love that piano. Sounds extremely similar to the last song I submitted lol. Also sounds a lot like it would be in megaman, yeah. No complaints here.

KgZ responds:

Haha you're right- your remix sounds really similar :D

Thanks for listening!

rabbitz!

Awesome stuff here.. very chill and laid back. pretty nice for 2 hours of work. very moody.. makes me think of driving on a long stretch of road on the countryside

i2abbitz responds:

WUSSUP MAN!!!!

yea, that's what i was goin for. chilled out a hint of downtempo with electronica..
straight up lay down shades up beer in hand and girl in the other.

heavy

I noticed you used some out of the box samples, doesn't matter though, cause this is sick. Especially for four hours of work.

indefinitereaction responds:

Yeah the hats in the chorus are. :)

nice

Very peaceful and serene. It's a very nice piece. Sorry about your friend.

Also, the reviewer below me is a total asshole, and probably has no friends.

KingDoom responds:
